We are the association promoting best practice in welcoming visitors to places of worship across the UK and Ireland.
Whether your church or chapel is just beginning to welcome visitors or has a long history of doing so, we hope to inspire and support you.
Church buildings hold stories, traditions, and spaces that evoke fascination, awe, and solace. By opening your doors to visitors, you’re not only sharing these treasures with the present but also safeguarding them for the future.
We aim to empower those involved in welcoming visitors - helping you respond to the needs of your guests while celebrating the unique heritage of your church. Together, we can foster curiosity, inspire new approaches, and build meaningful connections that benefit visitors, volunteers, and the wider community.

Discover Churches is a resource designed to help you extend a warm and meaningful welcome to visitors exploring church heritage, art, and community.
We were a key partner in the project which developed the toolkit. It is currently hosted on the National Churches Trust website. This is the first draft, and we welcome feedback, additions and case studies.
